Winter’s not quite here, but CIF Southern Section pre-season rankings for winter high school sports are out. Eight local teams have been tapped among the best,
Boys soccer: In Division 5, Garden Grove is rated ninth.
Girls soccer: Santiago is ranked fifth in Division 3, with Pacifica unranked but getting votes.
Girls water polo: In Division 6, Pacifica is seventh and Orange ninth. In Division 7, Western is third.
Wrestling: Magnolia and Western are sixth and ninth in Division 4.
