Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that did an estimated $165,000 in damage to a Garden Grove apartment complex Tuesday morning.
According to Fire Captain Mike Janovich of the Garden Grove Fire Department, the blaze was reported at 10 a.m. at the Windsor Apartments, 10242 Stanford Ave.
Firefighters had the blaze contained in 20 minutes. There were no injuries and the occupants of the apartment were not home at the time of the incident.
Smoke and fire damage was done to the two bedrooms in the unit and to the hallway; there was also smoke damage in the living room. Units below and on either side of the apartment where the fire started suffered lesser damage.
Damage to the contents have been set at $65,000, with structural damages at $100,000 to $105,000.
The GGPD’s arson investigator was on the scene. His report should be available Wednesday, Janovich said.
