Pacifica defeated Loara 68-61 in boys basketball action Wednesday to remain in a tie with Valencia for the lead in the Empire League, with both teams at 3-0. They will clash Wednesday in the Mariner gym.
In the Garden Grove League, Santiago (3-0) held onto its lead with a 63-59 win over Bolsa Grande (0-3). Also, Garden Grove (2-1) defeated La Quinta (0-3) 54-47 and Rancho Alamitos (2-1) turned back Bolsa Grande (0-3) 63-59.
Orange League play saw Western defeat Century 47-38.
In the Golden West League, Westminster fell to Segerstrom 67-28.
On the girls side in the GGL, Garden Grove stayed on top at 3-0 with a 49-38 win over La Quinta (2-1). Rancho Alamitos (2-1) remained close by defeating Los Amigos (1-2) 50-43 and Bolsa Grande (1-2) got its first league win in beating Santiago (0-3) 84-76.
