Grove back in tie for GGL lead: Wednesday’s results

Garden Grove jumped back into a tie for the lead in the Garden Grove League in boys basketball with a 75-58 win over Santiago Wednesday night.

The Argonauts (14-5 overall, 4-1 in league) were led by Josh Webb’s 21 points. Sean Young had 15 as the home team prevailed. Daniel Lopez led the Cavaliers with 22 points; Juan Sanchez had 15.

In other GGL action Wednesday night, Bolsa Grande defeated Los Amigos 78-65.

Pacifica dropped its second straight Empire League contest, losing a heartbreaker 59-58 to league-leading Valencia.

In the Orange League, Western defeated Savanna 74-69 and Magnolia bested Santa Ana Valley 63-48. In the Golden West League, Westminster lost 72-25 to Ocean View.

On the girls side in the GGL, Garden Grove remained on top at 5-0 with a 62-50 win over Santiago. Los Amigos bested Bolsa Grande 56-24 and Rancho Alamitos outlasted La Quinta 60-53.
