The regular high school basketball season concluded Thursday night for nearly all local teams. The CIF playoffs start next week.
In boys basketball for the Garden Grove-Westminster-Stanton area, Western lost 66-55 to Savanna in Orange League play. Magnolia defeated Santa Ana Valley 48-36.
In girls’ action, Pacifica lost 65-26 to Valencia in the Empire League. Orange League action saw Western edge Savanna 45-42 and Magnolia bounced Santa Ana Valley 61-13.
