Seven local girls water polo teams will be in post-season action as the CIF Southern Section playoffs start this week.
On Tuesday two area teams are in wild-card games. In Division 6, Westminster, second place team in the Golden West League, will host Webb High in the Wild Card C game. If the Lions win, they will advance to the first round on Thursday, visiting Malibu High.
In Wild Card Game A in Division 7, Rancho Alamitos, the third place team from the Garden Grove League, will host Summit High. If the Vaqueros win, they will visit Western, the Orange League champions on Thursday.
First round action in Division 6 on Thursday will include Orange (Golden West League champs) hosting the winner of Tuesday’s wild card contest between Perris and Bonita.
Pacifica, champion of the Empire League, will host Poly High of Pasadena on Thursday.
In Division 7, Garden Grove (champs of the Garden Grove League) will host the winner of the wild card game between Palm Springs and Savanna on Thursday.
Also, Los Amigos (GGL runner-up) will visit La Quinta of La Quinta in San Diego County.
