A 45-year-old Westminster woman has been arrested for and is expected to be charged with repeatedly selling alcohol to minors, according to police.
According to Cameron Knauerhaze of the Westminster Police Department, Helena Nguyen was arrested last week at The Westminster Dairy, 10051 McFadden Ave.
Police received tips from parents, school officials and students that the dairy was a place selling liquor to those under the legal age of 21. An undercover sting operation in August 2009 led to Nguyen being arrested for selling alcohol to a minor and employing an underage worker.
But, according to police, the practice of selling to minors didn’t stop, and detectives from the WPD and the state Alcohol Beverage Control continued to investigate. The result was a felony arrest warrant for Nguyen.
She was arrested on March 10 on charges of child endangerment and will later be arraigned.
“The Westminster Police Department takes the safety of the children in the community very seriously,” said Knauerhaze. “We will continue to take aggressive action against any business in our city that places our youth at risk.”
