A contract to hire Richard Tauer as superintendent was approved at last week’s meeting of the Westminster School District Board of Trustees.
On a 5-0 vote, the trustees approved a three-year pact with an annual salary of $184,000, subject to 10 possible furlough days, according to Trish Montgomery, spokesperson for the district.
Tauer will take over leadership of the 10,000-student K-8 district on July 1, replacing the retiring Sharon Nordheim. Tauer is currently the assistant superintendent for human resources.
The WSD serves most of Westminster, as well as portions of Garden Grove, Midway City and Huntington Beach.
