Six suspects were arrested, weapons and bombs confiscated when Garden Grove police served a search warrant Tuesday night.
According to Lt. Robert Fowler of the GGPD, the search took place at 6541 Chapman Ave. at 9 p.m. Earlier in the day, officers had conducted three vehicle stops during which a quarter-pound of marijuana and a stolen vehicle were recovered.
At the Chapman location, police found several marijuana plants, along with chemicals and other materials commonly used in the production of methamphetamines (“speed”), said police.
Also found were a handgun, boxes of ammunition, and improvised hand grenade and two pipe bombs. The Orange County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad was summoned and disarmed the explosives.
Five men and one woman were arrested. No further details were available.
