Road rage incident leads to arrest in GG

A 29-year-old Stanton man was arrested Wednesday as a suspect for brandishing a weapon during a road rage incident at Magnolia Street and Trask Avenue in Garden Grove.

According to Sgt. Rick Wagner of the GGPD, Luis Mathew Ala, the suspect is also wanted for multiple investigations involving theft.

At 4:15 p.m., Garden Grove police received call concerning a suspect pulling a gun.

The victim and witness to the incident gave authorities the suspect’s license plate number, which led them to the 7700 block of Devonwood in Stanton.

The suspect was seen later as he returned to Devonwood, where he then allegedly fled and then dumped his car in the 1220 block of Georgian in Stanton. After a one hour search for the suspect, he was found when residents of the neighborhood informed police that he was hiding in their home.

Ala was identified by the victim and the witness, said police.
