Police in Garden Grove and Westminster are conducting separate DUI and driver’s license checkpoints this weekend.
The Garden Grove checkpoint will be on Westminster Avenue at Atlantis Street (near Garden Grove Park) from 9 p.m. on Saturday through 3 a.m. Sunday. The Westminster checkpoint will be close by, in the area of Westminster Boulevard and Magnolia Street, from 7:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
Both checkpoints will be aimed at reducing drunk and impaired driving and making certain that motorists have valid and current driver’s licenses.
Funding for both operations is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
