SANTA ANA (AP) —A former Southern California police officer working as an unlicensed private investigator has been charged with defrauding his clients and posting ads on Craigslist soliciting women to have sex with his Labrador Retriever.
Kevin Michael Sianez was charged Friday in Santa Ana Superior Court with 63 criminal counts, including 20 felony counts of grand theft by false pretense. He also is charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit sexual assault on an animal, after detectives discovered the bestiality-seeking Craigslist ads during their investigation.
Prosecutors say he did little or no work on cases after charging clients between 2005 and 2010.
Sianez was an officer in Stanton and Santa Ana from 1979 to 1986.
A phone listing for Sianez was not available.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
