The Rancho Alamitos High School football team will open its 2010 season on the road against Saddleback High School on Thursday, Sept. 9 at Santa Ana Stadium.
In 2009, the Vaqueros finished 6-4 in the regular season, taking third in the Garden Grove League. They lost in the first round of the CIF playoffs to Norwalk, which would advance to the Southern Division semifinals.
The rest of September 2010 will see the green-and-gold visit Sunny Hills at Buena Park Stadium on Friday, Sept. 17 and then finally return “home” on Thursday, Sept. 23 against Cerritos at Garden Grove Stadium.
In October, the Vaqs host Sonora on Friday, Oct. 1 at Bolsa Grande High School’s stadium. Non-league play concludes on Thursday, Oct. 7 against Pioneer High at Bolsa. GGL action commences on Friday, Oct. 15 against La Quinta High, again at BGHS.
On Friday, Oct. 22, the Vaqueros will take on their oldest rival, Garden Grove High, at the Argo stadium. The month will close out on Thursday, Oct. 28, against Santiago at BGHS.Nov. 5 at Bolsa.
The regular season concludes against Bolsa Grande on Thursday, Nov. 11. The Matadors will be the home team.
