Man arrested for sexual assault in Westminster

Westminster residentl Marco Gonzalez- Estrada, 29, has been arrested as the suspect in a violent sexual assault case. He was booked today at the Orange County Jail for attempted rape and sexual battery, according to a Westminster Police Department Officer Van Woodson.

Forensics technicians used fingerprints found at the crime scene and a victim’s positive identification of Gonzalez-Estrada in making the arrest, said Woodson.

Westminster detectives apprehended Gonzalez-Estrada at his home this morning after an incident report was made at 3:30 p.m. yesterday by an adult woman.

According to the press release, the victim had met the suspect at a gas station in Stanton and agreed to go to a playground at Christ Church of Westminster, located at 14061 Chestnut St.

Once they arrived, the victim alleges that Gonzalez-Estrada forced himself on her and attempted to sexually assault her.

Gonzalez Estrada ran away when the victim began to scream for help.

She then walked to a nearby McDonald’s at 7112 Westminster Blvd., where she asked for help from the workers, who contacted the police.
