Election Day is over, but some uncertainty prevails in an at least one local race.
As of Wednesday morning, Peggy Loomer was leading a field of six candidates for two seats on the Westminster City Council, with incumbents Tri Tan and Andy Quach in second and third.
But provisional and absentee ballots had yet to be counted.
By midway Friday, according to the Orange County Registrar of Voters office, Ta had moved into first with 5,945 votes, dropping Loomer into second with 5,384. Trailing her in third place was Quach with 5,304.
The Registrar’s office reported there were still 230,183 ballots left to be counted across Orange County, but there was no information on from where those votes might be coming.
In the 47th Congressional District, incumbent Rep. Loretta Sanchez (D-Garden Grove) has slightly increased her margin over challenger Van Tran (R-Costa Mesa). As of 1 p.m., she had 34,022 votes, compared to 28,284 for Tran.
