Westminster man stabbed, beaten

A 43-year-old man was beaten and stabbed in an incident in Westminster this morning.

According to Officer Van Woodson of the Westminster Police Department, the assault took place in the 9200 block of Chelsea Circle around 1:30 a.m.

When officers responded to the 911 call the found that the man has been seriously injured with stab wounds and blunt force trauma. He told police he had gone to investigate loud noises in the garage area of his home, where he was confronted by a suspect.

The suspect then shouted at the man, beat and stabbed him, according to police. The suspect then ran away.

According to police, the suspect was described as a male Hispanic, 30, with an average build. The victim was hospitalized and is expected to survive his wounds.
