Beer robbers sought by GG police

Police are seeking two suspects who they say robbed a Garden Grove convenience store and assaulted the clerk and a customer who came to his aid.

The incident took place on Dec. 28 at 11 p.m. at the Circle K market at 12512 Knott St. (Lampson Avenue), according to Lt. Jeff Nightengale of the Garden Grove Police Department.

Police say the incident began when one suspect entered the market, selected an 18-pack of beer and took it to the front of the store. While the clerk asked the customer about his age, a second suspect entered the store and also stood at the counter.

The two suspects then allegedly attacked the clerk.

A third customer in the store saw the attack and came to the clerk’s aid and was himself assaulted. The suspects then fled the store. They were last seen running south on Knott Street.

The first suspect was described as a male, 17-20 years old, with tanned skin and dark hair, and about 5-foot, 6 inches tall and 140 lbs. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black shorts.

The second suspect was described as a male, 17-20 years of age, and possibly Hispanic. He’s about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 150 lbs. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Inspector Wasinger at (714) 741-5827 or (714) 741-5704.
