GG will halt registering medical marijuana vendors

GARDEN GROVE (AP) – Garden Grove officials say the city is halting the registration process for medical marijuana dispensaries in response to unresolved legal issues in another city and at the federal level.

In a release Wednesday, city councilman Bruce Broadwater says Garden Grove has never been a “marijuana-friendly” city.

Broadwater cites an ongoing case that will determine whether Long Beach is in violation of federal law by regulating medical marijuana dispensaries.

Broadwater says federal officials have also warned that they will crack down on the state’s pot vendors in California.

Mayor Bill Dalton says the city is interested in partnering with federal officials to reach a lawful and fair solution for medical marijuana dispensary operation.
