Stanton will pick new council member

The Garden Grove and Stanton city councils will meet Tuesday, with the latter facing a choice of whom to select to fill a vacancy. Here’s the agenda highlights.

GARDEN GROVE

The City Council meets on Tuesday night with a relatively light agenda. Items to be considered include:

• Approval of plans for the renovation of the Twin Lakes Park at Lampson Avenue and Haster Street. The lakes will be reduced in area and sports fields added.

• A new ordinance establishing new mixed use zones and mixed use regulations.

The council meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 11300 Stanford Ave.

 STANTON

Who will be the next member of the Stanton City Council? The matter will be decided Tuesday when the council meets to chose among Elizabeth Joan Ash, Rigoberto Ramirez and Christine Villegas. The vacancy was created when Ed Royce, Sr. resigned earlier this year.

Also on the agenda is a proposal to create an economic development program to attract news businesses.

The council meets at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
