Mixed use rules for GG get a final vote

Garden Grove Journal

The second and final reading of two amendments to the city municipal code to clear the way for more mixed use zones and standards for them will be on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the Garden Grove City Council.

Mixed uses involve allow residential, office and retail uses in one location. Mixed use zoning is increasingly popular as suburban communities become more densely populated and younger residents appreciate the more urban settings that result.

The proposed standards includes provisions for bed and breakfasts, “brew pubs,” handicraft/industrial art establishments, food trucks, a pedestrian-oriented plaza and live entertainment theaters.

The council meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 11300 Stanford Ave.
