What happens to Hollenbeck Park?

Discussion of what to do about the closure of Hollenbeck Park will be on the agenda when the Stanton City Council meets on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

The park, located at 8645 Cerritos Ave., has been closed as a cost-cutting measure as the city faces a $3 million-plus budget shortfall. But the city does not own the property; instead it leases it from Southern California Edison, which also leases the larger Stanton Park parcel to the city.

The council is expected to provide direction to city staff on how to handle that situation.

Also on the agenda for Tuesday are:

• a five-year contract with City Manager Carol Jacobs good through June 10, 2017.

•  second reading and final approval of previously introduced ordinances dissolving the Stanton Parks and Recreation Commission.

• approval of a memorandum of understanding for Stanton’s share (amounting to $11,710) of federal law enforcement funds.

The council meets in the City Hall at 7800 Katella Ave.
