Fireworks, a community garden and new parkland top the agenda of Tuesday’s meeting of the Stanton City Council.
Among the items scheduled to be considered when the council meets at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall at 7800 Katella Ave. will be:
• selecting seven non-profit organizations for 2012 fireworks sales during the Independence Day holidays.
• a proposal to create a community garden in the Tina/Pacific neighborhood at 8901 Pacific Ave.
• improving two vacant parcels in Tina/Pacific as landscaped community parkland.
Also on the agenda is an amended franchise agreement with CR&R for trash pickup and the second and final approval of the “Town Center” plan to create a new downtown for the area bounded by Cerritos Avenue, Katella Avenue, Rose Street and Fern Avenue.
