Garden Grove High’s softball team rallied in the final innings to defeat Serrano Thursday and advance to the CIF Division 4 semifinals next week.
The Argonauts, champions of the Garden Grove League, trailed 2-0 but scored once in the third, twice in the sixth and once in the bottom of the seventh in the game at their home field at Mark Twain School.
Jasmine Antunez held the Diamondbacks to four hits. The Argos were led by Jenevee Peres, who had three hits, two RBIs and a home run for Grove.
In next Tuesday’s semifinal, the Argonauts will host Buena. If they win, they’ll advance to the finals June 1 or 2 at Deanna Stadium in Irvine.
