Budgets for two City of Garden Grove agencies will be on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting of the City Council.
The council convenes its public session at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
Council members will take up a proposed spending plan for the city for 2012-13, a budget for the Garden Grove Housing Authority and some changes in user and development fees.
Also on the agenda will be the termination of the cable television franchise with Time Warner Cable. The end of the franchise won’t have much of an immediate effect on the estimated 16,500 Garden Grove homes now served by Time Warner.
The franchise is being ended because local TV deals have been superceded by state control of cable, in an effort to encourage competition in the home cable television business. Also now offering such services are AT&T and Verizon.
One impact of the realignment of the agreement is that Garden Grove will see an increase of about $41,000 in annual fees paid to the city for public, education and government support.
Also on Tuesday, the council will take up an agreement with Martha Reis for $2,555,000 for the purchase of property at 12291 and 12311 Harbor Blvd. and 11292 and 12312 Thackery Dr. in Garden Grove.
