FRESNO (AP) – A 22-year-old Garden Grove woman will represent California at the Miss America competition in January.
Leah Cecil, who won the Miss Garden Grove title in 2010, was named Miss California Saturday night in Fresno. She came into Saturday’s competition as Miss Southern California Regional.
Cecil, a graduate of Cal State Fullerton, plans to get a Master’s Degree in business and wants to teach music at the college level.
The first runner up was Miss South Counties, 20-year-old Crystal Lee of San Francisco.
Over $115,000 in scholarships were awarded at the competition Saturday.




FYI- Leah was not the reigning Miss Garden Grove when she won Miss California. Bree Morse is the current Miss Garden Grove, Leah won the title of Miss California while holding the title of Miss Southern California Regional. Leah was Miss Garden Grove last year, when she placed 1ru to Miss California 2011 Noelle Freeman.
