Pre-trial motions are scheduled for Nov. 30 in the case of a man accused of murdering one woman and fatally injuring a man in their Westminster home.
Pasqual Raul Loera, 34, faces homicide and other charges in connection with an incident on Feb. 14, 2010 when he went to the home of Julie Palasko and Dennis Koire under the pretext of buying an Infiniti automobile they had advertised for sale.
The Orange County District Attorney’s office is charging that Loera shot both of them, killing Palasko, 48, and badly injuring Koire, 49. It’s alleged that Loera then took their car and drove to a casino in Las Vegas.
There, his conduct aroused the attention of security personnel, who confronted him.
In attempting to flee, the driver put the car into a ditch. Loera was arrested by Las Vegas police, who notified the Westminster Police Department.
Responding to the home of the registered owner, police found Palasko dead and Koire wounded. He was taken to the hospital where he was in a coma for over a year before succumbing in March 2012.
