A jury trial has been scheduled for Nov. 26 for Waymon Livingston, who is accused of five rapes — one of them in Stanton — and two murders.
According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Livingston, a resident of Stanton, was charged with raping a woman in an Anaheim parking lot on Aug. 25, 2005, then sexually assaulting a motel housekeeper in Stanton on Oct. 25, 2006.
Authorities believe he raped and strangled a private masseuse in a Costa Mesa motel room on May 7, 2007. He is also accused of murdering a 21-year-old Sacramento woman, Melissa Ann Gonzalez, in an Anaheim motel room on Sept. 9, 2007.
Using DNA evidence to connect the crimes, Livingston was arrested by the Anaheim police at his home on Oct. 27, 2007. Later forensic evidence linked him to rapes in 2006 in Fullerton and in 2007 to a murder in a Costa Mesa hotel room.
