Bible teacher arrested on molest charge

A 48-year-old volunteer Bible teacher has been arrested on charges of committing a lewd act with a minor, according to Garden Grove police.

The suspect, identified as Christopher Guardado of Garden Grove, was arrested after two young girls, each of them under 14 years old, told their families last week they had been molested, said Lt. Jeff Nightengale of the Garden Grove Police Department.

The accused is a family friend and teacher of first and second grade Bible study classes at Calvary Church Pacific Coast, located in Westminster.

Police say the suspect, victims and their families all met and socialized through the church. The girls told detectives they had “been victimized numerous times over the past two years,” with most of the incidents happening at the suspect’s home.

The latest incident was alleged to have occurred in June of this year.

Anyone with additional information on this case is asked to call Det. Aaron Nelson at (714) 741-5800.
