BEND A LITTLE
Yoga classes will be offered at the Stanton Community Center starting in September.
The classes are set for Tuesdays Sept. 4 to Nov. 11 from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. and Thursdays Sept. 6 to Nov. 13 from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m.
Each session will run for 11 weeks and the fee is $55 ($5 per class). Register for classes at the City of Stanton Community Center, 7800 Katella Ave., Stanton or online at www.ci.stanton.ca.us.
The free concert season in Westminster is not over. The schedule continues through Aug. 23 with shows from 6-7:30 p.m in the Sunken Gardens in the Westminster Civic Center.
Tonight (Thursday) the act is the Old School Westminster All-Stars Rock & Blues, sponsored by the Soroptimists of Westminster.
Scheduled for Aug. 16 is Ben Wachman, who performs pop, folk and soul. On Aug. 23 the band is DeNada playing classic rock and Latin music, sponsored by the Midway Sanitary District.

Trips, activities and special events are just a few of the ways seniors can spend their summer by attending the City of Garden Grove’s H. Louis Lake Summer Day Camp. The first day of the five-day camp is Monday, Aug. 27.
Registration is now underway.
The senior center is located at 11300 Stanford Ave, across from Garden Grove High School.
The Summer Day Camp, designed for seniors 50 and over, starts with an introduction to camp activities on Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. The week continues with excursions to the Los Angeles Zoo; a tour of Los Angeles including Dodger Stadium, Olvera Street and Chinatown; and the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda.
On the last day of camp, campers will enjoy an All-American barbecue in Village Green Park.
Water and light snacks will be provided during the excursions, or participants can bring a sack lunch or purchase a lunch. Lunch will be provided to all campers on Monday and Friday.
The cost for the week-long camp is $50, which includes the excursions, transportation, and a camp T-shirt. Payment must be made prior to the first day of the program.
Early registration is encouraged; the limit is 20 people.

The Doug Frost Begonia Society of Stanton is sponsoring its third exhibition and sale of begonias at the Sherman Library and Gardens in Corona del Mar, 2647 E. Pacific Coast Highway. The date is Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 25 and 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
