Sometimes running away is the smart thing to do.
In a robbery attempt reported Wednesday in Garden Grove, a shop owner’s nimble feet helped him foil a crime, according to Lt. Robert Fowler of the Garden Grove Police Department.
The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. at C&S Masterpiece, a jewelry store located at 9828 Garden Grove Blvd. Two suspects walked into the store and began discussing modification of a piece of jewelry they had brought with them.

Then one of the suspects pulled out a stun gun and pressed it to the owner’s neck. But the owner stepped back, turned and ran into his back office. He hit the silent alarm button and grabbed up a golf club for self-defense.
The suspects then ran out the front door and fled in a vehicle that was later determined to have been stolen in Santa Ana on Tuesday.
Three suspects are being sought. They are described as:
• a male Asian, 20 to 25 years old, about 5-foot, 8-inches tall, weighing between 160 and 170 lbs. with dark hair and wearing jeans.
• a male Asian, 20-30 years old, 5-10, 150-170 lbs.
• a male Hispanic.
The suspect vehicle is described as a white Honda Civic two-door, with a license plate of 6JSN612. Anyone with information about the robbery attempt or the suspects is asked to call Investigator Wasinger at (714) 741-5800.
