Two married teachers, one of which had taught at Westminster High School, were convicted Thursday of having unlawful sexual relationships with a 17-year-old boy.
According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Daniel Alma Shepard, 63, of Huntington Beach, pleaded guilty on a plea bargain to two felony counts of oral copulation of a minor, one felony count of sodomy with the minor and one misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

His wife, Gay Davidson-Shepard, 60, also of Huntington Beach, pleaded guilty to a plea-bargained three felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, sodomy with a minor, oral copulation of a minor and one misdemeanor count each of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and violation of a protective order.
They were convicted in West Justice Center in Westminster. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 27, also in Westminster. According to the district attorney’s office, they are expected to be sentenced to three years formal probation, counseling and 60 days of community service.
Originally, Shepard was sentenced to two years in prison and Davidson-Shepard to four years in prison, but those were stayed pending the completion of probation.
