Loss drops Rancho from unbeaten ranks

Rancho Alamitos dropped from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 32-20 loss to Sonora in a non-league contest at Garden Grove Stadium Thursday night.

The Vaqueros (3-1) led 14-12 at halftime but could not hang on to the lead, being outscored 20-6 in the last two quarters.  Fa Fiaseu ran for one touchdown and totaled 54 yards rushing for Rancho. Quarterback Matt Culbert was only 5-for-15 through the air for one score and 65 net yards.

Rancho’s week four opponent will be Anaheim. The Colonists will visit the Vaqs Friday night at Bolsa Grande Stadium.
