The public’s help is being asked by Garden Grove police investigators in connection with a fatal traffic accident that took place on Sept. 23
According to the GGPD, the collision took place at the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Katella Avenue at 5 p.m. A Nissan Altima with four passengers struck a tree. One of the passengers was “partially ejected” and severely injured. The boy, a 16-year-old from Stanton, was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries.
Two other passengers, injured less severely, were also hospitalized. The driver, a 17-year-old youth from Anaheim, suffered minor injuries.
Witnesses told police the Altima was speeding north on Brookhurst, went out of control and traveled across the southbound lanes of the street, struck a vehicle and hit at least two trees on the west side before coming to rest.
Police suspect that drugs may have been a factor in the incident, and would like to speak to any other witnesses to the crash. They’re asked to call Investigator Jason Perkins at (714) 741-5823.

I was a first responder to this accident and would like to know how the boys are. I read one passed; I’m so sorry to learn that… How are the others we helped before emergency teams arrived… The one with the head injury (I brought him the towel for his head)… The other with the compound fracture? Are they okay?? My heart weeps for all those affected by this horrific innocent. Stephanie
