Trial set for ex-police officer as fake ‘P.I.’

A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 9 for a former Stanton and Santa Ana police officer accused of operating an illegal private investigation service.

The hearing will take place in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana at 8:30 a.m.

Kevin Michael Sianez is accused of working as a “private eye” without a license through KMS Investigations from November 2005 and June

2010, as well as Fore-Front Investigations and 4Front Investigations.

Investigators claim the Sianez led people to believe he had a nationwide organization when he in reality worked out of a small suite in Santa Ana with fewer than five employees, who were primarily family members.

He is further accused of defrauding his customers by doing “little or no work on their cases after payment,” according to the district attorney’s office.

Further, the district attorney alleges that Sianez threatened to file false police reports against complaining customers, and in one case, burn down the house of another private investigator who posted online comments criticizing his professional performance.
