Friday night prep football: Rancho, Aztecs, Sents win

Rancho Alamitos 47, Bolsa Grande 10

The Vaqueros kept alive their hopes for a repeat as the Garden Grove League champions with the one-sided win Friday night at Garden Grove Stadium.

Keanu Duquet ran for three touchdowns and rolled up 129 yards in the GGL win. Rancho is now 5-2 overall and 1-1 in league. If the Vaqs can upset Garden Grove on Oct. 26 they have a shot at a co-championship.

Bolsa Grande (1-6, 0-2) had its only score tallied by Michael Marquez on a 35-yard run.

Rancho Alamitos will meet La Quinta next Thursday, while Bolsa takes on Los Amigos on Friday.

 

La Quinta 26, Santiago 21

Don Tran ran for three touchdowns and passed for another as the Aztecs came from behind to defeat the Cavaliers Friday night in a Garden Grove League game at Bolsa Grande Stadium.

Santiago was led by Michael Arteaga with two touchdowns and 67 yards rushing. Cavalier QB Andy Tang threw for 94 yards.

La Quinta (3-4, 1-1), will play Rancho Alamitos on Thursday, while Santiago (3-4,1-1) plays Garden Grove on Thursday.

 

Magnolia 23, Century 21

A 22-yard scoring pass from Adeel Akbar to Luis Dorado in the last seconds of the game lifted the Sentinels to the win Friday night at Santa Ana Stadium.

Magnolia (2-5, 1-1) was led by Akbar, who ran for one score and threw for another. He finished with 215 yards passing.

The Sents will continue Orange League play Friday against Savanna at Western High’s Handel Field.
