The “Crime in the United States 2011” report showed that both violent and non-volent crime decreased in the three cities, compared to 2010 figures.
In Garden Grove, the number of violent crimes declined from 539 to 449. In Stanton the drop was from 156 to 141, while Westminster saw a decrease of 259 to 248.
Property crime in the three cities also showed a downward movement in the number of incidents. For Garden Grove, the number fell from 3,590 to 3,387; in Stanton it was 643 to 629 and Westminster saw a decrease from 259 to 249.
Murders and non-negligent manslaughter overall fell from seven to six incidents, with the number dropping in two cities and up in one. Garden Grove’s homicides fell from three to two and Stanton’s from two to one. Westminster saw an increase from two to three.
Rape statistics fell in two cities and rose in one. Garden Grove had a decrease from 22 incidents to 19, while Westminster reported a change from 17 to 11. But Stanton had an increase from one reported incident in 2010 to seven in 2011.
