WESTMINSTER (AP) – Married teachers in Orange County have been sentenced after pleading guilty to having sex with a 17-year-old male student, both individually and as a couple.
Gay Davidson-Shepard and her husband, Daniel Alma Shepard, were both sentenced Thursday to three years of formal probation.
Both were also given suspended jail sentences and must complete community service, counseling and make restitution.
Prosecutors allege 60-year-old Davidson-Shepard and 63-year-old Shepard groomed the Westminster High School student by inviting him over for meals and board games and then began molesting him in April 2009.
Prosecutors say the couple got the teen drunk on a weekly basis and abused him at their Huntington Beach home.
The teen told his mother in 2011 and she went to police.
Their attorney, Salvatore Ciulla, did not immediately return a call.
