One local school is headed into to the CIF football semifinals and another is in the girls’ volleyball finals.  Here’s a look at Friday’s football action and a note about the volleyball contest.

Garden Grove 49, Segerstrom 21

The Argonauts rolled into the CIF-SS Southern Division football semifinals for the third time in four years with the second round victory at home Friday night.

Maze Masoe ran for four touchdowns to lead Grove (10-2) past the Jaguars. C.J. Del Real rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns to aid the cause, and Angel Martinez passed for 125 yards.

Next Friday the Argos will face Laguna Beach, which defeated Northwood 28-21 in its second round game.

Corona del Mar 26, Los Amigos 0

In a second round CIF-SS Southern Division game Friday night at Bolsa Grande Stadium, the Lobos were shut out and knocked out of the playoffs.

Jerry Saldivar, one of the county’s top rushers, gained 105 yards for Los Amigos, but the orange-and-black were unable to push into the end zone against the defending division champs.

The Lobos finish the 2012 season with an 8-4 record.
