Permit for Tet Parade has a pricetag

Brodie's ART Template MASTERA special event permit for the annual Tet Parade was approved by the Westminster City Council at its meeting Wednesday night.

The parade, planned for Feb. 10 in the Little Saigon area of the city along Bolsa Avenue, is expected to attract 10,000 people to the area.

But approval for the event came with a price tag: organizers must raise $60,000 to pay for security and traffic control for the parade. The deadline given to the Vietnamese American Federation of Southern California is Jan. 24.

Garden Grove’s big Tet event, the annual Tet Festival, will be held Feb. 8-10 at Garden Grove Park. Attendance of over 100,000 is expected. This is the “Year of the Snake.”
