“Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters” opens this week/
MEETINGS: The Garden Grove City Council meets Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at 11300 Stanford Ave.
The Stanton council meets at 6:30 p.m. in City Hall at 7800 Katella Ave. Westminster’s city council will meet on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at 8200 Westminster Blvd.
MOVIES: Opening this Friday is another weak lineup of films
Coming to local theaters:
• “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters”: Vigilante siblings go out for some payback. Rated R. Starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arteton.
• “John Dies At the End”: Flashbacks reveal how two drug-addled college dropouts saved the world from an alien invasion. Rated R.
• “Knife Fight:” A political strategist juggles three clients and debates whether or not to take the high roiad. Starring Rob Lowe, Jamie Chung and Carrie-Anne Moss.
• “Movie 43” A dozen directors contribute to this collection of outrageous tales and spoofs. Rated R.
STAGE: At the Westminster Community Theatre, the comedy “Southern Hospitality” continues Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. through Jan. 26. The theater is located at 7272 Maple St. in Westminster.
