Judge says no to gays in Tet Parade

Brodie's ART Template MASTERWESTMINSTER (AP) –– An Orange County judge refused to grant an injunction for a gay Vietnamese-American coalition that would have allowed it to take part in the weekend’s annual Tet Parade in Westminster’s Little Saigon.

The Partnership of Viet Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Organizations has marched in past parades despite objections from religious groups, but is being excluded this year.

The event was previously sponsored by the city of Westminster, but this year it is being run by a community federation that fears other participants would pull out if the gay group was allowed.
Superior Court Judge Geoffrey Glass ruled against forcing the group’s inclusion on Thursday.

The gay group’s co-founder Tuan Truong Le says members would still walk in the parade with other organizations.
