Pacifica High’s girls’ water polo team will face Yorba Linda Saturday for the CIF Division 6 championship at Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine.
The Mariners advanced to the finals with a 9-6 upset of Culver City on Wednesday in a semifinal game played at Santa Ana Valley High.
Pacifica (20-10) was paced by the goalie work of Melissa Thorn, who had 19 saves. Her sister, Caroline, scored four goals for the Mariners.
Yorba Linda, an Empire League rival, made it to the finals thanks to an 11-6 triumph over Palm Desert on Wednesday.
