Panhandling, development on Stanton agenda

A jam-packed agenda will greet the Stanton City Council when it meets Tuesday in City Hall.

The council will convene at 6:30 p.m. in their chambers at 7800 Katella Ave.

Among the items on the agenda are:

• Appointment of two new members to the Stanton Community Foundation;

• A resolution requiring a reservation for the use of Stanton Park;

• The second reading and approvals of several new ordinances, including one banning panhandling on public streets;

• consideration of a proposal to restrict parking along the frontage of Hollenbeck Park on Lola Avenue “in an effort to reduce dumping and other illegal activity.

The council will also vote on a plan created by city staff to provide incentives for economic development  in Stanton.

The agenda also indicates that a discussion on shopping carts will be set for the March 19 meeting.
