The city council meets in closed session at 6 p.m. and in open session at 7 p.m., both in the Council Chambers at 11300 Stanford Ave..
The guideway project is a proposal to use streetcars to link Santa Ana’s downtown and civic center to Garden Grove’s Harbor Boulevard. Two street car routes would be employed, one to connect the county seat’s districts to the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center.
A second streetcar route would run from central Santa Ana west along Santa Ana Boulevard, then turn northwest along what is now the old Pacific Electric right-of-way (past the Willowick Golf Course, which is owned by the City of Garden Grove but located within Santa Ana city limits).
That route would terminate at Harbor in Garden Grove, just north of Westminster Avenue/17th Street. Garden Grove could build there a regional transit connection and station, which could be part of another streetcar system running north up Harbor.
A Harbor route could someday connect with Anaheim’s proposed street car lines and Anaheim’s regional transit center.
Also on the agenda are a resolution in support of a financing concept for the Great Wolf water park hotel project planned for Harbor Boulevard, and another resolution approving a development agreement for the construction of a resort hotel project on Harbor at Twintree Lane.
