The GGUSD board meets at 10331 Stanford Ave. in Garden Grove with a closed session starting at 6 p.m., with the regular open session commencing at 7 p.m.
A presentation on communication and problem-solving protocol will be jointly made by Joli Armitage, assistant superintendent of personnel services, and Tina Gustin-Gurney, president of the Garden Grove Education Association.
The GGEA represents teachers and other faculty members in the GGUSD.
A report on a proposed “dual language information forum” will be made to the board by Gabriela Mafi, assistant superintendent of secondary education, and Sara Wescott, assistant superintendent of elementary education.
Mafi will assume duties as superintendent in July.
A forum was held in Santa Ana Saturday on a proposal to introduce “immersion” classes in Vietnamese that would allow a student to study and learn in that language throughout his or her educational career in the GGUSD.
Mafi and Wescott attended the forum and will report on what they learned.
The GGUSD is a K-12 district serving most of Garden Grove and portions of Anaheim, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Stanton and Westminster.
