The second reading and adoption of the updated citywide zoning map will be considered by the Stanton City Council when it meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
The ordinance, first introduced on May 28, includes a simplification of the city’s zones, and adds mixed-use overlays allowing the combination of residential and commercial uses in the same area.
This ordinance was prepared to bring the city’s zoning map into alignment with Stanton’s general plan.
Also on the agenda will be consideration of adoption of the city’s Measure M capital improvement plan, which could make Stanton eligible for fundingfor roads and other transit related uses.
Measure M was a proposal to increase the sales tax in Orange County by one percent in order to raise money for the county’s transit needs, including widening of freeways.
Voters approved “M” initially in 1990 and again in 2006.
