An ordinance specifying how much property owners will be charged for the city’s paramedic program will go before the council. The proposed rate is seven cents per $100 of assessed valuation, with the goal of raising $7,200,000.
Also on the agenda for Tuesday is participation in a grant through the state Office of Traffic Safety to conduct checkpoints to arrest drunk drivers. The grant would provide $113,350 to the city. Garden Grove’s police department has been participating in this program since 1996.
The council will also consider a proposal by Brandywine Homes to build 18 single-family homes in a planned unit development at 10418 Katella Ave. on the site of what is now a church.
The council meets in its chambers in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. A closed session will be held at 5:30 p.m., followed by the regular open session at 6:30 p.m.
